Delhi Prepaid Taxi System & Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL)

Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL) and the Delhi Traffic Police Decided  to modernise the city’s prepaid taxi system and MOU signed between them ,this agreement establishes a collaborative framework to digitally integrate and manage 34 prepaid taxi booths across 21 key locations in Delhi, including major transit hubs like the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and railway stations..

Operational Responsibilities b/w two:

Under the MoU, the responsibilities are clearly divided between the two entities to ensure a seamless and safe commuter experience..

1. delhi traffic police will Managing and operating the physical prepaid booths , Recruiting booth staff and conducting thorough driver verification and will Ensure passenger safety through a newly established Joint Command and Control Centre for real-time monitoring and emergency SOS responses.
2. Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (STCL) will Handling digital integration via the Bharat Taxi app , Financial management, including the payment of staff salaries and Maintenance, branding & marketing of the booths..
   

Core Benefits and Features of MOU:

The modernisation initiative, backed by the Ministry of Cooperation, introduces several improvements

1. The Bharat Taxi app is directly linked to the Delhi Police control room, featuring a “Siren” SOS notification for immediate assistance to empower safty
2. Commuters can use app-based booking and digital payment options through partners like Paytm promoting digital conveniance
3. The system aims for transparent pricing with no surge pricing, making rides more predictable for passengers..
4. As a cooperative model, drivers retain a significantly higher share of their earnings based ( on specific model) compared to private aggregators.
5. Eligible drivers can access benefits like free health coverage up to ₹5 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. 

Strategic Partnerships

Beyond the Delhi Police, Sahakar Taxi (Bharat Taxi) has signed MoUs with other major institutions to enhance urban mobility with DMRC, For integrated last-mile connectivity at metro stations , with AAI & GMR ;To regulate and improve airport mobility at IGI Airport and others across India and with SBI to provide priority vehicle financing for driver-owners under the Mudra Yojana.
