About the Shaheen Falcon
- A non migratory subspecies of the Peregrine falcon, it is renowned for its “stoop” a high-speed hunting dive that can exceed 300 km/h
- Characterised by a muscular build and a distinctive dark vertical stripe from the eye down the side of the face often giving it a “severe” look.
- Experts suggest their presence in cities may indicate the loss of traditional nesting sites due to environmental degradation and infrastructure development.
