Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar participated in the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in France on March 26 -27, 2026 where he championed the interests of the Global South and advocated for sweeping reforms in global governance..
The meeting took place at the Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay in the Yvelines department, near Paris, India participated alongside other invited partners including Brazil, South Korea, Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia , On the sidelines, Jaishankar held discussions with counterparts from France, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, the UK, Germany and Ukraine
Global Concern mention by Him

- Jaishankar explicitly raised critical concerns regarding energy security, fertiliser supplies and food security, noting that developing nations are disproportionately affected by rising costs and geopolitical disruptions
- He called for the urgent reform of the UN Security Council (UNSC), arguing that international institutions must reflect contemporary geopolitical realities to be effective and representative.
- Highlighting uncertainties from the West Asia conflict, he made a strong case for creating more resilient trade corridors, specifically mentioning the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
- In a bilateral meeting with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, both nations agreed to coordinate closely to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy artery
- He underscored the need for streamlining UN peacekeeping operations and strengthening humanitarian supply chains to better respond to global crises…
