An eight-year-old female sloth bear was captured after it strayed into the Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Airport/ Shivamogga Airport Premises in Karnataka , The bear had remarkably travelled 50 km in just 24 hours after being translocated to the Bhadra wildlife division on March 27..
A 20 member team from the Umblebailu and Lakkavalli ranges conducted a two-hour operation , the animal was tracked using its GPS radio collar and was successfully tranquilised near an anganwadi in Jyothinagar.Wildlife veterinarian Dr. Murali Manohar confirmed the bear is healthy and stable.
