- Shaikh’s work has been centered on the Chambal River, where the birds breed on seasonal sandbars.
- The award funding will be used to expand this model to Prayagraj which is the confluence of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers..
- The project trains local community members to monitor nests, install predator proof fencing & reduce human disturbance during breeding..
