- located at Government agriculture farm in Tanda Bijesi village, Amaria tehsil, Pilibhit in UttarPradesh , Pliibhit also known for Tiger Reserve ..
- This is Uttar Pradesh’s second Basmati Export Development Foundation (BEDF) centre, following the one in Meerut ..
- total estimated expenditure will be arround 15cr & Construction by the Public Works Department (PWD) is expected to finish within one year.
The centre is designed as a comprehensive hub to boost premium rice production and exports like
- Specialised training for farmers in seed production, premium cultivation, and global export standards ..
- Includes an administrative building with a state-of the art auditorium, a seed storage facility & a museum and gallery themed on Basmati and organic farming..
- it will feature an AI-based satellite survey to map cultivation areas and identify crop varieties for more accurate export estimates..
- Future plans include a NABL accredited lab to test for pesticide residues and DNA fingerprinting to ensure varietal purity for international markets ..
- The facility aims to serve farmers from Pilibhit and neighbouring regions, including Uttarakhand and Delhi..
- By promoting high value crops and providing marketing support, the initiative expects to significantly improve rural livelihoods and India’s position in the global Basmati trade ..
