Contract Structure and Remuneration
The contracts are divided into three grades with fixed annual retainers & These retainers are supplementary to standard match fees, daily allowances & performance incentives already provided under MCA policies..for Grade such as
- Grade A: ₹12 lakh to ₹20 lakh per annum.
- Grade B: ₹8 lakh to ₹12 lakh per annum.
- Grade C: ₹8 lakh per annum.
Eligibility Criteria
To ensure the contracts target emerging talent and loyal domestic performers, the MCA Apex Council established strict requirements
- Players must be registered with the MCA
- Contracts are awarded based on performance and meeting specific fitness benchmarks
- Players must not have represented the Indian national team or been selected by an IPL franchise in the past two seasons
- Mandatory approval from the senior selection committee is required
Impact on Domestic Cricket
- Security like Reduces the income gap for players without lucrative IPL deals
- Encourages high fitness standards and consistent performance
- Motivates young players to focus on traditional domestic formats rather than just T20
- Supports players on the verge of higher honours, ensuring they don’t leave the sport due to financial instability
